A Night At The Opera

Living in big towns such a London or NYC certainly have their advantages when it comes to the theatre and live music but smaller town have loads of great stuff on too, you just have to look a little harder!

  • Check out local newspapers, street magazines and notice boards in coffee shops for local productions.

  • Scour the internet for last minute offers or cheap ticket websites to ensure you bag a bargain!

Become an oh-so cultured theatre goer. Get your friends together and have dress up for a night at the theatre or dress up like rock stars & go see a live band.

Whether the local theatre or gig is held at your local high school hall or London's fabulously huge 02 Arena - going to a show is bound to assure a night well spent. Break up your well worn weekly routine - head out on a school night ;) ... or see a show instead of drinking yourself silly & crawling home next Saturday.

Heres a few places to get started:

Indulge your inner child and check out Disney on Ice: Mickey & Minnies Magical Journey (you know you want to, go on!) now showing in downtown Dallas, Texas at the American Airlines Center. American Airlines Center Tickets can be picked up here.

Fancy a bit of country (& a bit of a perve - watch out Nic!) - Keith Urban is gigging in Philadelphia. Grab your Wachovia Center Tickets here!

Burlesque more up your ally? La Clique is a fabulous blend of circus & burlesque fun though as the posters state, it is utterly indescribable so get on down to London's Hippodrome and check it out. Tickets can be bought here.

Fancy a musical? We all saw Dirty Dancing growing up. Dirty Dancing is now showing on stages from London to the States & Canada. Grab Dirty Dancing tickets for shows in the US or Canada here or for London shows, click here.

Not feeling any of that? Check out Last Minute where you will find a whole barrage of fantastic shows of every persuasion - there really is something for everyone & the great part is that it's all last minute so you'll nab a fabulous bargain.

What was the last show you saw?

I just saw a show last night (for the first time in quite a while!)
It was called Poor Boy - a play with songs from Tim Finn and starring Guy Pearce! It was brilliant, and since I was under 29yrs old, my ticket was under half the price of an adult! (yay! LoL)
I'm already planning what i'm going to see next!

Hey great tips! Especially since the broadway scene is really hurting because of the recession. People don't have the $80 per ticket so broadway is getting more flexible.

Last show I watched was off broadway Rock of Ages. I keep trying to convince Eddy to go to another but have to wait until the Spring. Just too cold in NYC.
