Jackie O nearly ended up as an office girl and sandwich hand rather than as the darling of Australian radio. Jackie started her radio career co-hosting The Hot 30 countdown with Phil O'Neil (aka Ugly Phil) and has since gone on to host a variety of Australian television programs in addition to her radio work. 'Poetry is not just words' says DJ and music journalist Mary Anne Hobbs who currently hosts UK BBC Radio 1's experimental electronic Tuesday night/Wednesday morning show. Truly and impressively passionate about what she does, Mary Anne got her start in the music industry as a lighting engineer before a carefully crafted fanzine she created landed her a role at Sound magazine. Sassy, sexy and Scottish, Edith Bowman is another woman proving her worth in a number of fields. In addition to presenting the 1pm - 4pm slot on the UK's BBC Radio One, Edith has previously worked as a presenter for MTV and Channel Four as well as having covered live events including Glastonbury Festival. From student radio in Edinburgh to London's favourite alternative station, Xfm - Marsha Shandur admits while her psychology degree 'has nothing to do with radio' that the university experience was what got her into radio. Sarah Gandy is the fabulous Kiwi lass keeping the NZ masses entertained on her ZM radio every weekdays from 10am through until 3pm as well as as co-host of ZM's weekly countdown on Saturday afternoons. Sarah admits she loves a lazy Saturday night in to "embrace the inner-nana". Before graduating Christchurch CPIT and joining the ZM team, Sarah worked as a youth worker.

How can you not adore a woman adorned the ever dubious honour of Most Spankable Female TV Personality ? Over the span of her career, Myf has been a part of on Rove Live, Spicks and Specks, Triple J and Triple M and was editor in chief of Inpress magazine. Soo so happy about the UK ladies! Of course I've never actually heard of any of them, but it gives me some tunes to check out instead of exhausting my itunes library as I do. Another great post!

Great post! Cath and I used to listen to Scotland xfm and were so sad when they closed up and went off the air. I forget our fav DJs lady's name- but she was awesome!
