With the world of celebrity being littered with women exploiting their fortune, stumbling out of nightclubs night after night with a deeper focus on vodka than whatever it was that catapulted them into them into the public eye to start with. Magazines and tabloids indulge this brand of celebrity enough and so it's time to shine the spotlight elsewhere and take a look at the women know how to have good time while keeping the focus on their career too.
Inspiring us with their success and ambition as well as entertaining us with their talent - this series takes a look at some of the hottest women across movies, music & television. These are the women who are doing fame & fortune the right way and making their audience say 'WOW' & 'Pwoarr!' for the right reasons. They are great at what they do & look fabulous doing it; they set the standards and dazzle us all.
Kicking off the series, the spotlight is on quirky electronica star, Peaches, as well as three iconic rock chicks: Karen O, Sarah McLeod and Hayley Williams.

Karen's rather interesting ethnicity may have something to do with her utterly fabulous good looks - born of a Polish father and Korean mother. Fronting up New York based alternate rock act the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Karen O rocks eccentric style with a slick of red lipstick and brings the stage alive with a dash of outrageousness. Karen's on stage outfits are often regarded as over the top but bold is absolutely the new black and Karen has friend and fashion designer Christian Joy to thank for these brilliant pieces that keep her looking great on stage.

Iconic rock chick are three words to best sum up Sarah McLeod who came fame heading up Aussie rock act the Superjesus. Proving she's still got what it takes, now performing as a solo artist, McLeod continues to enthrall audiences with raw acoustic tunes as well as high energy rock numbers. She oozes sexy rock chick in all she does - check out her solo stuff including He Doesn't Love You (video) and as well as Gravity, from her time with the Superjesus (video). (image credit)
Hayley Williams - Paramore
Red haired rock minx, Hayley Williams is behind those feisty & fabulous Paramore vocals. Hayley is a perfect mix of bold and unassuming all equating to her brand of charismatic rock chick charm. Check Hayley out here performing an acoustic version of Misery Business and also see a live version of Crushcrushcrush here.

Electro-punk sensation, Peaches pushes the envelope with her provocative outfits and on stage raunch as well as her musics themes of gender identity and sexuality.
Peaches has made an appearance on television series The L Word, check it out here and add that to your reasons to love her. Peaches is currently doing shows in the United States with planned performances in the UK and Europe later in the year, to hear some tunes from Peaches and grab those tour dates, check out Peaches MySpace. Well, since my life is all about music (and sadly not about playing music myself), I came across loads and loads of lovely ladies...
Lately, I really adore the new Kelly Clarkson record. I know that she came out of a casting show and literally got the contract served to her but... still, her voice is amazing.
I also love Kate Nash a bunch, until I saw her live. That put a downer on my awe.
I really love Beth Ditto too. Everyone talks about her these days... and I know she doesn't exactly always looks amazing but I love how fierce and confident she is in what she's doing. Also, the energy radiating off her on stage! WOAH. - At 3 February 2010 at 13:23 , Anna Pope said...
